Ah, the Oscars. I have been a longtime fan for years and years. I'm not sure how or why my obsession began, but once a year i will sit for hours on end and watch the Academy Awards. I've laughed (tonight when Jon Stewart made the crack about Bjork not being there because when she was putting her outfit on Cheney shot her. As well as the Cowboy montage), i've cried (Tom Hanks' speech for Philadelphia). I even attended an Oscar party last year with Dawn. Our old boss put on a party at her restaurant. When we arrived we had to get into a limo, then get out and on the other side was the "red carpet" along with an interviewer, microphone in hand, cameras and all that jazz. We had to dress up for the event and tell the interviewee "who" we were wearing. It had potential to be a good evening, however, it included lots of people, booze and a microphone. For those that know me, when i watch the Oscars, there's no funny business, i like to be able to hear the speeches and enjoy the show. Needless to say after Dawn and myself urged people to shut the hell up cause we couldn't hear a thing, we left in the middle of it, hit up Harvey's and then went to watch the remainder of the show at home.
As well i figured i should give an update on my New Year's Resolution: to step out of the box. In the past 2 months i have:
*Called that guy who gave me his number
*Went on a date with said guy .... you all know how that went ugh
*Took minutes at a staff meeting (might sound strange but i never had and i've heard people cut up others' minutes when they have been taken so i was nervous, but did it anyway)
*Bought a pair of beige pants (I always wear black)
*Had a supervision meeting at work (I had also never had one before, i always got out of them)
*Took some great advice from my boss regarding a client that i told her i hated....she told me he was trying to get under my skin and if i reacted in a mean/annoyed way with him, that's exactly the reaction he was trying to get from me....so i was sweet as pie and he turned out not to be so bad afterall
*I have a hair appointment on Wednesday and i'm debating about getting bangs....any thoughts on this one......i'm not so sure i have the balls to do it, help me decide :)

Sorry for being stupid but what do you mean by bangs?
I watched some of the Oscars. I liked the Will Farrell and the 40-year old Virgin's fashion speech. I think Merryl Streep and that other woman also did pretty good.
Good for you that you are living outside the box. However, beige pants is no accomplishment. I would really be impressed if you bought a pink pants.
I wouldn't be surprised if Ash bought pink pants. She hated pink for years, now everything she buys is pink.
Oh, and bangs when you cut the very front part of your hair shorter than the rest. My mother is Euro and she calls it a 'fringe.'
Yrautca, Jennifer is making bangs sound like a mullet, ask a coworker. As for pink pants, beige was super stepping out of the box for me. Pink would be leaping and bounding over it. I'll think about that for next year.
Jennifer, what do you think about the bangs? Should i go for it?
YES...i think bangs on you would be good..but the ones that are longer like below your eyes that you can sweep to the side. ORRR...the choppy bangs that are just to your eyebrows. But then of course you need the haircut to accompany that.
Ahhh, kinda like this:

Go for it Ash. Will look good on ya. get the sideburns too babe.
Ooooooo. Bangs. yikes..that's a tough call. If their done right they can look really cute...but I'm generally of the 'no bangs' preferance...but it's all about what YOU want.
I agree w/ PP. Go with ones that are longer and it'll look hot.
I'm really proud of you for stepping out of the box. I'm working on a little something like that myself.
Longer bangs might be OK, but I'd be carefull with bangs and your hair texture, they might stick out if they were too short.
I'm in love with my bangs. So you might find that too.
And I said the very front, not the front. Although Ash and David Spade do look quite similar.
Happy birthday dear Ash. May you have many more. May you have a wonderful year full of hope and happiness. May you get married to Dr McDreamy and have his triplets. Love!
Thanks Yrautca....except for the baby part LOL. I'm not a fan of kids.
I went ahead and got the bangs...oh my. If i can ever get a bloody pic on this thing i can post a before and after...face blurred of course :)
Jennifer i used to find David Spade strangely attractive....and Conan O'brien
Do you like the bangs? I got them once and I thought they made me look 12. But, on some people they look great.
I applaud your purchase of beige pants too. I only wear black because they are more slimming. You go girl (he he -- I've always wanted to say that)!
SS the bangs are ok. I'm sure they will grow on me, but i don't dislike them. My family and a few friends on the other hand snickered at me and are not fans. Though my coworkers liked them.
Tell them that your hair kept getting in your way when you were going down, so you got bangs. That should shut them up.
