Khaki Vests and so forth

So Jennifer wrote this ridiculously funny post about what she thinks i'm going to be wearing in Africa, check it out it's hilarious.

I'm going to show you all a few of my favorite shoes, and you tell me if you think i'm the type of gal to be wearing khaki vests and tilly hats.

While were at it, let me show you a few strange items that i owned at one time as well.

This is a corset purse that i fell in love with years ago. I never use it anymore as i've grown up....but just a little bit.

This is a coffin purse that my dad made for me when i was a teenager, now it's a jewelery holder in my closet...again i've grown up a little bit since then.

Halloween is fast approaching. Do any of you still dress up and if so what are you going to be this year? My favorite costume that i wore a few times was Mrs. Mia Wallace from Pulp Fiction. I only have my head shot unfortunatley but the rest of the outfit was great. I had a big needle sticking out of my chest with blood all around it and surprisingly a lot of folks figured out who i was. It was from the scene where she OD's and is brought back to life. Good times.

Why do you take so many pictures of your feet? Sure, your shoes are cute, but you could just take one picture of all your shoes.

I shall compare this to "look at my nails, look at my nails". Instead of saying "look at my feet look at me feet" you are posting pictures of them.

I only said look at my nails that one night becuase I had on glow in the dark nail polish on. However, this is your second post about your feet. (because honestly, if it was really about your shoes, you would have just taken pictures of your shoes SANS feet. LOL!!)

I am fully behind you. I think jennifer posted that because SHE really wants to wear khaki pants and money belts. And is saying that you will before she admits that its really her, to see what kind of reaction she would get to weearing them herself.

I have known you like 27 years. Never once have I ever seen you wear khakis.... :)

i should take this opportunity to point out that none of those shoes are the appropriate footwear choice for west africa.

No, no, PP -- Can't take photos of those boots without feet in them -- They wouldn't stand up. But, yeah, we've seen the pink ones before. Anyway, what an interesting collection =)

PP, it's not at all like your nails. And as SS pointed out, the boots need feet in them.

Scott, thanks.

TT, i know that silly, i'll be wearing cowboy boots in Africa what will you be wearing? :P

SS I agree.

I just wanted to point out that i'm disappointed in all of you, noone answered the halloween costume question.

I loved Jennifer’s post about what not to wear as a tourist. Having recently returned from the Middle East the best example on display was during visit to a temple. A Russian, ignoring completely the Islamic dress code, was wearing hot pants so short that you could see cheek!

On the Halloween costume note – I have no idea what to wear to a party that I have coming up – any suggestions welcome!

Ash, you said you were going to take pictures of the clothes you were bringing, not shoes you aren't bringing. That must be because I was right about your safari suit.

Maybe you should bring some of those Russian hot pants with you to West Africa that should cause a pretty big sensation, especially when all the locals learn the English word for cellulite.

I'm wearing an African lady dress for Halloween, and every other day we are in WA. Although, last year I wore a sari, so maybe cultural dress will be a trend for my Halloween costumes.

Aussie Pom, I think you should dress up as a Star Trek Character :)

It is so...but we'll have to agree to disagree here. :) Point taken about the boots, and I didnt think of that actually.
