Read if you were a kid in the 90's

Just a quick update....my "date" from 10 days ago decided to call *groan* He left a message i have yet to return it, any thoughts on what i should say? I thought i was off the hook seeing as it's been well over a week since i saw him...Help me !!!!

This email had me reminiscing about so many things from my childhood. Thought i would share:

You know you're a 90's kid if...

You've ever ended a sentence with the word "PSYCHE!"
You can sing the rap to "The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air"

You've worn skorts and felt stylish or skids.
You yearned to be part of the Baby-Sitters club.

You know that "WOAH" comes from Joey from "Blossom" and that "How
Rude!"comes from Stephanie from "Full House."

You remember when it was actually worth getting up early on a
Saturday to watch cartoons, the A Team and Wrestling.

You wore a ponytail on the side of your head and had fluffed bangs.
You wanted to change your name to "JEM" in kindergarten.

You remember reading "Goosebumps."
You know the profound meaning of "Wax on, wax off."

You have pondered why Smurfette was the only female smurf.
You took plastic cartoon lunch boxes to school.

You remember the craze then the banning of slap bracelets and slam books.
You still get the urge to say "NOT" after every sentence... Not...

You remember "I've fallen and I can't get up"
You remember going to the skating rink before there were inline skates

You ever got injured on a Slip 'n' Slide
You wore socks over leggings scrunched down, the fold roll, or pinned your jeans.

You remember boom boxes vs. cd players.
You knew what it meant to say "Care Bear Stare."

You remember Alf, the little brown alien from Melmac and Vicki the
Robot from "MY Little Wonder."

You remember New Kids on The Block when they were cool.
You knew all the characters names and their life stories on "Saved
By The Bell."

You played and or collected "Pogs."
You used to pretend to be a MIGHTY MORPHIN Power Ranger and you owned a Skip It.

You had at least one GigaPet or NanoBaby and brought it everywhere.
You watched the original Care Bears, My Little Pony, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

All your school supplies were "Lisa Frank" brand.
You used to wear those stick on earrings, not only on your ears, but at the corners of your eyes.

You remember a time before the WB.
You've gotten creeped out by "Are You Afraid of the Dark?"

You thought it would be so cool to be Alex Mack.
You know the Macarena by heart.

"Talk to the hand" ... enough said
You thought Brain would finally take over the world.

Some of them are too young for me, does that make me old?

Holy crap, pinned jeans. I remember that.

I was a 90s teen, does that count?

I dont know who Alex Mack, and I have no idea what a slam book is.

And I think you should call him back. Maybe you should give him another shot....Psyche. *just kidding, that's SO gay. LOL*

At least you guys got the ‘ninja turtles’ as kids. Growing up on the other side of the Atlantic they were called 'Hero Turtles' because they thought the word 'ninja' was considered too violent at the time.

That's not all. EVERY scene in which Michelangelo was seen with his nunchaku was cut out!!!

I passed. With flying colors. I miss Blossum.

And you should just not call him back. Really.

I think you should call him back, and if he asks you out again, tell him that he's too neurotic for you. Honesty is the best policy.

They're Pinky and The Brain
Yes, Pinky and The Brain
One is a genius
The other's insane.
They're laboratory mice
Their genes have been spliced
They're dinky
They're Pinky and The Brain, Brain, Brain, Brain
Brain, Brain, Brain, Brain
Brain.

Before each night is done
Their plan will be unfurled
By the dawning of the sun
They'll take over the world.

They're Pinky and The Brain
Yes, Pinky and The Brain
Their twilight campaign
Is easy to explain.
To prove their mousey worth
They'll overthrow the Earth
They're dinky
They're Pinky and The Brain, Brain, Brain, Brain
Brain, Brain, Brain, Brain
Narf!

Oh so very very true....scary too because I wasn't an American kid...but we had the same stuff. Talk about world domination of American culture?

Okay, I remember the early 90s stuff but not the mid to late 90s stuff -- I guess because I wasn't a kid anymore then? Anyway, the one comment made me laugh because just this past weekend I was coming home from walking a friend's dog and "Step by Step" by New Kids On The Block came on the radio. I haven't heard a song by then in soooooo many years and I have NO idea why it was on the radio but I pulled into my garage and continued to listen to it before going inside the house (Step 1 - We can have lots of fun, Step - There's so much we can do...) Anyway, when I finally came inside Hubby had "What were you rocking out to in the car? It sounded like the new Eminem song." Oh gosh, I have never laughed so loud in my life. Ah, the good days of New Kids On The Block.

I'm such a Poindexter, I made up a song to the tune of Step by Step to remember the steps of the scinetific method. Sometimes I still hum it when I'm trying to remember. On the other hand, sometimes I hum the alphabet song when I'm filing.

Sounds more 80's to me. Oh, and Vicki was on "Small Wonder", not "My Little Wonder."

Ha! I was born in 91 and I remember most of the stuff you have written...Ha! I love this!!

I remember most of these, but some just werent common around here, which could explain why some of you remember some things but not others.
