I did not grow up in a religious household however I did have the pleasure of attending church with PP's family when I was much younger. Every now and again we would have a sleepover on a Saturday evening which meant church in the morning. They did give me the option to stay home however I always attended. Apparently I was much less rude back then :)

Anyway, I always dreaded the part where you have to shake hands with the people around you as I do not enjoy touching strange hands. I don't know where they've been....perhaps whacking off a few minutes prior......using the toilet and not washing.....up a nostril.....or.....maybe the person has scabies or some other thing that I would prefer not to contract.
My hesitation with hand shaking is just as apparent today as it was back then. Every once in a while I'll have a client who *gasp* likes the court ordered work they are doing and will thrust their hand towards mine as I cringe and take it.
After a game of volleyball it is good sportsman (woman)ship Ha! to shake hands with the opposing team. I always do however I make a beeline for the bathroom afterwards to wash the filth and grime off of my hands.
And don't get me started on those with a limp handshake.....I mean really....why bother at all?? A friends girlfriend had the worst handshake on the face of the earth. She barely touched the palm of my hand with the tip of her fingers before it fell limp and sort of hung there. It was AWFUL! If you're going to make me touch it.....make it nice and hard...firm if you will!!! That sounded mildly dirty!

Ha. This handshake thing is bordering on a phobia Miss Ash. But I know that Donald Trump has the same affliction (seriously), so you already have some company.
But you are right about limp ones as they are just pitiful.
It is kind of an OCD thing. No offense, I have similar things. lol
Actually I am having hypnotherapy done for my phobias soon. I'll let you know how it goes! I DO hate the limp handshake though. UG
2DP & Jlee, perhaps it's a bit of a "thing" that I have but it's not like I won't shake someones hand...I'll do it...but I won't like it!
You should change your name to Miss Monk!
That reminds me of dodgeball and having to do the "good game, good game" line up after each game where we basically just did a low five.
Some people would hit hard others weak....so lame.
I was blacked out from a heat stroke during the handshake part of the mass. It's not like it was a big deal or anything. I just happened to be an usher in a wedding and this was during the ceremony.
And people don't whack off before church. That's awful. How do you come (yup) up this stuff?
I grew up Catholic (oh you knew that) and I did that every week. It still bothers me.
I agree. People do nasty things with their hands. I think picking noses is right up there. EWWW! However, I lack a phobia about shaking hands though. Explains why I'm sick all the time.
Yrautca, Ha!
Rawbean, yes the "good game" low five, we do a version of that in vball but it's a low shake.
WIGSF, of course they do, people do that whenever they can....before church, on a plane...wherever.
Wiwille, oh I can't imagine doing that every week for years upon years. I wonder if it would be rude if you just kept you hands to yourself and smiled?
Invisible G, and see I am rarely sick, few times a year at most.
Okay, you need to meet a classier bunch of people. You know, people with some sort of self-control.
On a plane! I can almost understand the mile high club, but I thought joining required a partner.
And even if somebody is weak-willed enough to do such a thing, I have to hope they wash their hands afterword. Otherwise, I'm looking for a tall building with an unguarded roof access. I don't want to live in a world where everybody whacking off all the time and not even having the decency to wash their hands afterword.
I hope you didn't go take a shower after I gave you a hug (perhaps I fit in the hot guy category!!).
Hehe. I am all about the firm handshakes.
Cxx
I cannot stand the limp handshake! I want to let go of their hand, grab their wrist and make them slap themselves for being useless. ;o) I guess you can say that it really really bugs me.
WIGSF, some people are nasty...you never know.
BB, Ha! Nope no washing after the hug from this gal...you're in the hottie category.
Claire, me too!
Lindsey, it just makes the person seem so lame and uninterested.
