Hillarity at it's fineset!!

This photo makes me laugh, it was sent from a friend over the pond. I must say it looks like a rather awkward game of soccer, perhaps that's how the aussie's play, who knows. We thought it would be funny for you ladies and gents to come up with creative captions to go with the photo. I personally really can't think of anything other than he looks like a deer walking for the 1st time after birth haha or "I'm the goalpost dammit, shoot between my legs!!!"Which both are terribly poor attempts at humour.....boo Ashley boo!!

Have a great weekend folks. I'm off to the Leafs game tomorrow night, Platinum seats Woo Hoo!!! I'm only going so I can look at the eye candy in the stands :)

Jesus Camp

On friday my friend and I rented Jesus Camp.........oh my!!!! Throughout the entire documentary our faces were scrunched up and brows furrowed in that sort of HUH???? & WTF is going on sort of way. It was all so very bizzare.

Children's Minister Becky Fischer runs an evangelical summer camp called "Kids on Fire" in Devil's Lake(tee hee), North Dakota. We are introduced to three children, Tori, Levi and Rachel. Inside the camp the children are often shown crying, speaking in tongues and are taught the evils of abortion and of course Harry Potter. They are taught to be better solidiers in the Army of God and at one point Fischer says that she would like fundamentalist Christians to show the same kind of devotion as fundamentalist Muslims. She denies brainwashing the children and the parents say that they do not force their children to love the Lord. It's funny though, at one point in the film Fischer asks her congregation "who loves the Lord?" and one woman forcibly raises her children's hands. Another young boy tells his friends at the camp that he does in fact watch Harry Potter at his father's house, something his mother does not allow. The faces of the children he tells are pricesless, looks of absolute shock and horror that he would watch such a thing. Don't even get me started on the lifesize cutout of George Bush that was placed infront of the congregation.......oh lord!! I found the whole anti-abortion part very creepy, seeing young children(7, 8 & 9 year olds) with red tape on their mouths with the words LIFE in black marker. It's an interesting albeit disturbing documentary and worth a view if you have not seen it.

In other news I completely broke down today in tears, full out sobbing like a 10 year old. I had been out all afternoon with a friend I had not seen in years. It was great to catch up and we had a wonderful visit. I headed to my car and my knee was absolutely throbbing, I could barely walk. This has been going on for far too long and I just lost it. I can't play volleyball, I can't go to my kickboxing class, I am going to Vegas in April and would love to hike the Grand Canyon and doubt that will be possible. The pills he gave me are not working and i'm still extremely swollen, sore and apparently feeling terribly sorry for myself. Luckily the Dr. will be going over my xrays with me this week and I will be seeing the surgeon in early April so hopefully I will have some idea of what the hell is going on. But yeah, i cried!!

Bombaloch!!!

Oh my!!!! Bunny decided it was a great idea to tear apart some paper towels that he had found. Sneaky little bugger!!! How could I possibly get angry at such a cute face? I just started to laugh at all the fun my little bombaloch was having. He's soooo freaking cute!!

The following photos are from an email i received about mother nature being dirty. She sure is, take a look:

Speaking of dirty, my friend texted me about the other night, the fun he had and the lipstick that was left on him....crap.

Yowza!!

I have had some knee issues as of late and decided to give the doc a visit as it was becoming unbearable really. Turns out there is fluid, perhaps a tear and who knows what else. He gave me some pills, an xray and a referral to an Orthopaedic Surgeon.....yikes!!! He doubts it will be that dramatic, but thought it best to check it out completely to be on the safe side. It's funny, you don't really notice things until they hurt, like walking up or down the stairs is killing me right now yet it's something i've obviously been taking for granted. This sucks!!

I spent St. Patty's Day with a bunch of friends at one bar.......all afternoon and all night long. We had a good time, the line up outside was ridiculous at like 7pm. Very odd but didn't concern us as we had already been there for a few hours at that point. These silly mofos were rather entertaining. I wonder if their arms are sore this morning haha.

This is Gavin, he claimed that this was the only green shirt that he owned. I wonder if his current girlfriend appreciated the shirt.

My friend decided to tell me that he would really like to date me ...... ummm errr, ahhhhh. To make matters worse I may or may not have kissed him errrrrr ahhhhhh oops! Not thinking this is such a good idea. I'll just pretend I have no idea what he's talking about if he brings it up haha.

Grandpa Kicked my Ass!!!

So over the past week, i've had a few birthday celebrations. LD and I went to visit Jennifer last weekend for some all you can eat sushi and some shameful behaviour which included a few people grabbing the girls a la Jennifer's request. Thanks Jennifer, that's the most action i've had in a long time ;)

My hometown celebration turned out to be a great success as well. I have different groups of friends, there's the boys that i've been friends with for 13 years, there's the highschool crew, the rugby boys...you get the idea. For one evening, all of these groups came together and it was fantastic. I had an amazing time.........that is until the shots started to kick in and I desperately wanted to go home. Unfortunately my friends are not into girly shots.....no siree bob....tequila, jager, liquid cocaine OH MY!!! I went downhill fast and begged random people to grab me as much water as possible; a trough would have been nice at this point. I stumbled over to a group of my friends and begged them to take me home. This request was met with laughter and "you're not really going home are you?" It was only 1am. The most embarassing part of the entire evening occured when I left the bar early and my friend who I refer to as grandpa stayed. He loathes not only going out, but also when such nights fall into the wee hours of the morning. Lucky for me the taunting began only moments after I got into the cab. I didn't pick up my phone but was left with messages "hey Ash we're out drinking" "hahahaha" "snicker snicker" "what happended to the party girl....must be the old age" insert a roar of laughter. I am never ever going to live that down. If this is what 29 feels like.....you can take it back because i'm not interested!!!!

Here are some pics from my hometown shindig.

The Secret

I watched this film today, it was interesting and I do believe in the content to an extent, however I found the "mind heals the body" aspect to be a bit of a long shot. The film uses the Law of Attraction (You get what you put your energy and focus on, whether wanted or unwanted. You are attracting the people, situations, jobs and such into your life) Basically our dominent thoughts will manifest.

It's an interesting concept, and I do believe in the power of the mind and our thoughts. My friends mother is a very spiritual woman. A few years ago she guided me in making a blueprint for my life. Absolutely anything that I wanted to have was put on the board......no wish was too grandiose. It is interesting now, years later to look at the board and see how many things have actually come into my life. A few things that were truly miracles and a few others that one could say I decided to do on my own and therefore were not necessarily the makings of a greater power. For example i had a picture of Africa on there as a place I wanted to visit and had the opportunity to go there last year. I suppose that could be seen as more of a goal that I was able to achieve rather than the power of my thoughts working in my favour. In any event I find this whole concept rather interesting and have decided to make a conscious decision to be more aware of my thoughts, and what i'm putting out there into the universe.

I'm interested to hear your thoughts on this topic. Do you think our dominent thoughts become our reality? If so, do we then have the power to change our lives using visualizations and positive thinking?

WTF @#$*&^^

So i'm driving to work on the highway yesterday (in the fast lane of course cause i'm cool like that :P) when i look to my right and notice a man driving very slowly, with of all things a magazine propped up on his steering wheel. He was reading a freaking magazine while driving!!!! My mouth drops to the ground and i give him cut eye, all the while yapping on my cellphone ( I know i get it, i was no better than him) only I was making a 10 second call, he was probably on page 15.
