Am I the only person that gets bizzaro friend requests on the monster that is FB? Wait, first things first, am I still the only loser that uses the social networking site? Okay, back to question #1.......I just find it incredibly odd that a married man from India, a guy from Argentina and a woman from California all want to be my friend. Huh? I could see if they were gathering buds to appear super popular from their own friends friend lists (even then I would decline) but these strangers and I have NOOOOOO friends in common. How the hell are they even finding me? I suppose I've never randomly thrown a name into the search option or looked for people far far away from me for shits and giggles. I already have a pen pal in England (yes we've been writing back and forth yearly since we were in Brownies and you all thought I was kinda cool pffffff) so I'm not in the market for any new pen pals. I just think it's weird.......

Maybe next year someone can remind me to deal with my legs BEFORE the hot weather hits?? They'll be covered in what appears to be large tampons (really it's just long cotton ballish things) and compression tape for a few days which in the warm weather is really quite awful. They itch, sweat, I can't wear shorts cause who wants to see tampons and tape all over my legs and then I can't wear shorts for like 2 weeks after cause they will be bruised. Ugh, why oh why must I be so vain .... hmmm sorta like a pun but not really Ha :)

Anyway get out there and enjoy the weekend, it's gonna be a hot one!!!!

What a lovely weekend activity wise and weather wise! I was able to see a bunch of my peeps I don't get to regularly hang out with, we went for drinks and of course got a little silly, ate deep fried food at 3am and then met up again on a patio the next day for brunch!

I finally got my bike out on the parkway yay and rode for about an hour or so. I have this bench that I LOVE to sit on so I brought a book to do just that. Unfortunately people were already occupying my spot so I found another. I sat down, pulled off my helmet and started to pull out my book when I heard "can we share this bench with you?" I said sure, it was an older couple from the states. They were actually super quiet and very respectful of my reading, they offered me some cheese and we chatted about biking for a few mins before I went on my way. I had to giggle to myself though, normally I would have been sooooo annoyed with the sharing of the bench, I wanted some peaceful quiet time after my long ride but for some reason I just went with it and figured meh whatever it's fine. I open up chapter 4 The Law of Least Effort in The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success by Deepak Chopra and was like WHOA! That chapter was all about acceptance and embracing people, situations etc as they come "Today I will accept people, situations, circumstances and events as they occur." Such an odd thing to read when I had done just that not 5 minutes before!!!

I also sat outside and finished off Mr. Chopra's book while enjoying this amazing 27 degree weather woot woot!!!! He had some very interesting things to say and I'm going to give these "laws" a try. I've wanted to explore a more spiritual realm if you will within myself and this seems like a great place to begin. Plus he talks about meditation which is something I've wanted to go deeper into as well.

August 22, 2007 to May 20. 2010

Can you even freaking believe that it has been almost 3 years since I began my list of goals?!?! I can't! Way back when on August 22, 2007 I made a commitment to myself to get out there and try new things, finish up others I had felt less important and step out of my comfort zone. In just over 2.5 years I have successfully completed 44 out of 75 goals, I've donated $120 to various charities as promised ($10 for unfinished goals) and I'm still raring to go! Oh yes my friends, I'm giving myself an extension.....

Goal List Update:

Working On

35. Read all of the unread books on my shelf: (15/35)

It has actually taken me 2 years to read 28 Stories of AIDS in Africa by Stephanie Nolen. There are 28 chapters in total, each focusing on a person who has been touched by the disease in some way, shape or form. Each story is more heartbreaking than the last and I can't possibly do it justice so if you're interested in an overview of the book go here:

Sunday, May 16, 2010

I seem to be having no luck at grocery stores as of late. First I purchased 2 packages of fruit cups and must have checked the Best Before date on the one and not the other. I went to bring one to work and noticed the BB date was January of 2010.......ummmm yeah it's May! The other package was good for months. Annoying yes but more annoying to go all the way back to the store so I let it go. I figured it was partly my fault for not looking and partly their fault for having something soooooo old still on the shelf.

Next I purchased these expensive apples $2.49 a lb, I tried them at a friends house, enjoyed them and figured they were a treat so why not. I started to eat one but do prefer to cut them into slices so I stopped to do so. Good thing as the inside was brown mush bleh! I would have bit into a rotten apple! An expensive rotten apple at that. I was a bit pissed about this one.....

Lastly, I bought some of that Liberte yogurt, opened it up and voila mold all over the top. It wasn't supposed to be "bad" for another week. Ugh, last straw for me, this one I took back to the store to get a refund.

All of this happened within a week, all at separate stores. Brutal!

I've also had 4 yes 4 bras break within the last 4 months (wires pop out) which makes nooo sense to me as I A) wash them in a laundry bag on delicate to protect them and B) don't wear the same bra everyday. Very inconvenient considering the store is over the river. Luckily PP has been over several times and several times has been able to get me replacements. The last time however, she got a gift card as clearly something ain't right and I'll have to try another style, size whatever to ensure this does not happen a fifth time!

That's my rant for the week :)

Thursday, May 13, 2010

I got the strangest text the other day it said "hellooo" so I said "hello" and the person replied "it's Justus, remember me, we met at D Weed March" I was like "wrong number dude" and he was like "isn't this Brittany" and I was all like "noooo and "I"ve never heard of Weed March"! That made me laugh soooooo hard!!! WTF is weed march???

Needless to say the exchange stopped there Ha!

I was checking out good ole facebook the other day when I saw a post from an old high school chum, she was going to see Avatar in 3D and was inviting whomever wanted to go. I figured what the hell and went to meet up with her and a few of her friends about a half an hour away. It sounds odd as I haven't seen her in years and we didn't hang out a lot back in the day but she is good friends with one of my friends and we had fun. She's super easy going and wacky and hilarious and was like "people ALWAYS say they'll get together on that bloody site and then never do" which is totally true. I actually had no interest in even seeing the film however everyone was raving about it and I figured I should at least get the 3D experience if I was going to bother watching it at all. Surprisingly Avatar was a really really great movie, it made me laugh, almost cry and kind of sit back and go hmmmmmm. It made me want to treat people and the earth in a much kinder fashion. If it hadn't been for her message I never would have gone.

Enjoy the weekend my friends, I'm off to see a play and get a massage ahhhhhhhhhh!!!

Things that I'm into right now:

Okay I realize that these 1st two don't go together AT ALL but that's how I roll :)

I had my first bite of Green Tea Haagen Dazs in Japan in oohhhh 2003 and have been searching high and low for it ever since. I'm not even kidding! Anyway skip ahead to oohhhh yesterday and AWWWWWWWWW there it was!!!!! *Squeal* It's delightful, just delightful and it was on sale! It's surprising how a little tub of yummyness could make my day!! Hey 7 years is a long ass time to be waiting for something!

A friend of mine gets a subscription to Women's Health magazine and passes them along to me each month. I must say they are a wealth of information and I enjoy these ones in particular for the articles, tips as well as the plans. I find a lot of the other fitness mags are all geared towards weight training and well weight training whereas Women's Health is so much more than that!

Oh ya, I'm totally into fun accessories if you will at the moment. I used to think Ed Hardy was totally tacky......oh wait I still do.....but I fucking love the above hoodie! Seriously it's super cute and comfy! Love it!

I'm sure I've posted this purse before but alas here it is again in the fun accessories category! You either love it or you hate it and I LOVE it! Betsy makes the cutest items and i totally got this one on sale too last year!

Seriously Winners is my new fav store, I got these Paul Frank flips for a few bucks! Cute cute cute!!!!

A few things that I want:

PS if you see the HD Green Tea ice cream give it a try, you won't regret it!!!

Thursday, May 06, 2010

So I'm sitting at my desk the other day when I hear this horrendous sound coming from the hallway. It was a mix between someone gagging and sucking back their snot and spitting it out.....I wanted to vomit! Choking, snot sucking, choking, gagging snot sucking......

What the fuck is wrong with people? Disgusting......I almost yelled out something along those lines but refrained as I had nooooo idea who it was. Someone I didn't want to be anywhere near clearly!

Not only are such displays horribly rude but they actually make ME start to gag when I hear them. It's almost like a yawn to me, I hear someone gagging I start to gag as the sound makes me sick. I was walking down the street recently when a man was coughing so hard he started to make the noise repeatedly.....I had to walk briskly by him or my lunch would have been sprayed all over his feet.

Don't get me started on when people are actually throwing up....I can't listen to that either....

Does anyone else out there have this issue or am I a big weirdo?

I figured a nice fun topic was in order to take us into the weekend! Ha! Enjoy it whatever you may be up to! And don't forget to honour your mother if she's alive and remember her spirit if she has passed! Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there!

I went to see Rock of Ages this past weekend and LOVED it! Seriously I think it just might be my favorite musical thus far cause I love the 80's and it was all about the music! I'm sure the people beside me hated me, every song I'd giggle and proclaim "I love this song"! They sang everything from Every Rose Has Its Thorn to Hit Me With Your Best Shot, oh yes! I felt like jumping out of my seat and dancing along! It was funny as well, this once character wore hilarious shirts....I won't spoil it for anyone that might go and see it, but it really was a great show!

LD and I went dancing afterwards until ohhhh 3:30am at which time our feet refused to hold us up any longer. Normally I stay with friends but we got a cheapie hotel as there was going to be a few of us.....hotel stays mean getting up at some ungodly hour to check out. LD had a great idea, she said that checkout time should be based on the previous evenings activities. I mean how are we supposed to go to bed at 4am and possibly be expected to wake up and get ready before 11am??? Nighthawks like us should be allowed a 2pm checkout so that we get a decent nights sleep and actually look human in the morning. I know most hotels have late checkout but you ask at this place and they stare at you like you have a third head.......

Completely off topic there was a candy shop beside the pub we hit up for lunch.....so ummm yeah I bought some candy! I love love love wine gums, mmm and a sugar daddy I haven't had one of those in ages (insert joke here) and this odd cadbury cream egg chocolate bar......looked yummy so why not!

Now it's almost Monday *les sigh*
