I have a silly question: Is it acceptable to use a coupon on a first date?

I came across that question recently while reading an article (not from personal experience thank god) and wondered what people thought of such a thing. To be honest, I would totally judge someone for whipping out their "two for one" coupon on a first date. I get that the economy isn't great and the person wants to save money, I totally get all of that, I do! I however think that a coupon is best left for another date perhaps the 4th or 5th. I'm all about saving money and wouldn't want to date someone who was up to their ears in debt, I also don't want to date someone soooooo frugal that they whip out a coupon on the first date.

That being said I suppose the person could go up to the register to pay the bill discreetly thus the dining partner would be none the wiser.

Discuss :)

Mish Mash of the week:

So I do quite enjoy musicals, plays, theatre so on and so forth. I watched Glee the other day for the 1st time, only because a little birdy told me they were singing all Madonna songs and I heart Madonna! I enjoyed the show but don't quite understand what's so "amazing" about it. I probably won't watch it again......

I've been sick....again! Ugh, seriously I know several people who are always sick but deny it "no I'm not" and I used to be one of them but now I've come to realize....yes you're all right, I'm always sick! I woke up last week with a swollen leaky eye, fever and have been having sinus issues all week. I went to see the doc, came back with a sac of meds and I'm good as new.....oh for the next week or two then I'm sure some other ailment will creep up!

I'm obsessed with the website beyondtherack, seriously if you like to shop and enjoy deals sign up. It's mostly if not all name brand stuff IE Burberry, Coach, Lacoste etc and they have crazy deals on just about everything. I've seen bags, scarves, sunglasses, clothing, jewelry, shoes.....the list goes on for super cheap prices! Every day at 11am a new sale begins *squeal*!

Things come in 3's right? My new bedroom furniture was delivered and flawed, they're sending out a guy to look at it this week, I've lost my favorite pair of glasses and all subsequent pairs that I own sit sideways on my face (they need to be realigned) and lastly the guy who worked on my car recently ripped my tint right off the front window and now I have to pay to get it fixed*sigh*.

God I love the Duke! I went up to PP's neck of the woods last week to meet her for dinner and she suggested that we head over to the Duke for a post meal drinky poo. At first I was a bit adamant as I was tired and had a long drive home however I decided what the hell and off we went.

The pub was rather quiet and we each grabbed a drink and lost ourselves in conversation until two random guys plopped themselves down beside us. When I say beside I mean practically on top of...... spitty McGee and the "I'm gay" guy invaded our tiny table. They had both been at the bar for "quite some time" on this fine Wednesday evening. Turns out they were complete strangers (to each other) until that evening as well. I don't even remember half of the conversation as I was laughing so hard, but it seems the gay ones' friend was in Vegas, they were chatting on Skype and they like to play some bizzaro type of scavenger game. He takes his laptop, his friend looks up a random place and tells him to go to it, thus he ended up at this pub. He was having some type of going away shindig as he was moving to BC in the morning only no one showed up. So he met spitty McGee and they became instant friends and then wanted us to join in on the "party".

SM kept well, spitting when he spoke and covered me in his saliva, the other one felt the need to tell us he was "gay" I suppose so we didn't think he was hitting on us. No worries, I never get hit on, the thought never even crossed my mind sir.

They invited us to go sing Karaoke with them however we had to turn the invite down, ummmm some of us work in the morning (when did I become 90?). I told them I had to go and let my friends dog out (which was true), PP chimed in "there is no dog, she just doesn't want to go with you". I assured them that I would have gone and do enjoy a pint or four to which PP said "no she doesn't, she hates to drink". Anyway I laughed and laughed as did PP, she had tears streaming down her face cause the whole scenario and conversation was hilarious. Every story the gay one told took an hour, I told him he told stories like my mother, spit it out I said! SM was an older gentleman with a fabulous Irish accent that made everything he said seem that much more funny. He also kept spitting every time he spoke, I told him that I was going to need a raincoat if we were going to continue talking.

This shit always happens at the Duke, it wouldn't be a normal evening there without randoms plopping themselves down to make the evening interesting. There was the homophobic conservative named Leslie, his Welsh friend who HATED us, the self proclaimed "best drug dealer" in the city, the guys who told us their most embarrassing story etc. The list goes on!

When the randoms stumble upon us we almost always open with "we all just took turns telling our most embarrassing stories, now it's your turn" and 9 times out of 10 the people join in without asking for our stories in return! We didn't ask that question this time for whatever reason, but there's always next time!

Cheers to strangers!

A few of my favorite things:

I've been looking for a new makeup bag for a little while and stumbled upon this cute Betsey bag. It's perfect as it has a separate compartment for my brushes which was always an issue with my old one. So not only is it practical but it's super cute!

Nom nom nom, these pita chips are just delightful. They are light and tasty and wonderful with hummus! My new favorite treat!
I've heard that pomegranate juice is very very good for you however I've always had issues with eating the actual fruit as it's super messy and not available year round. So I decided to try this Pom juice and while I quite like the taste I do find it a bit sweet. My friend suggested I cut it with some ginger ale and voila, a refreshing sort of healthy (can pop and healthy be used in the same sentence?) yummy summer drink!

Ahhhh this beautiful weather! Well, what was beautiful weather, I took this photo on my cell last Monday and it's rained every day since. I can be patient and wait for the clear blue sky to return, but please oh please make it soon!

I just adore this song by the Stars and the video is cute too! I can't for the life of me figure out how to put the video on here this time so go ahead and check out the link!

Enjoy the weekend whatever you may get up to! I will be MIA for most of next week but I'll try to catch up on Friday!

TWO WOLVES

One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people.

He said, "My son, the battle is between two wolves inside us all.

"One is Evil - It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.
"The other is Good - It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith."
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather: "Which wolf wins?"
The old Cherokee replied, "The one you feed."

I was talking to a placement supervisor today joking around and he commented that I was in such a good mood. I was like hello I'm off at 4 o'clock today until April 12th! *Snoopy Dance* He said he knew the nature of my work and to enjoy my time off and just relax! Amen brother!

So not only am I ecstatic to be getting some time off but it's also 24 yes 24 degrees today!!!! One of the most lovely, beautiful, sunny days that I have seen in a long long time! I crave this weather and I am soooooooo happy that it has finally arrived!

I can't wait to get out by the water and take a bike ride or walk along the path in the sun. I'm also going to try to get to some of my goals, do a spring clean and just enjoy my time off. I'll hopefully also get my horrendous eating back in check.....ummm yeah didn't I mention that a few posts ago....oops!

Anyway enjoy the weekend, have a few pieces of chocolate for me (pffff who am I kidding, of course I'm going to have some) and Happy Easter!
