So in my last post I asked for funny stories and Christielli mentioned a silly thing that she did while shopping in Winners that made me laugh:

Okay, here's a random funny story. Once I was in Winners w some friends and I saw a nice pair of shoes on the ground and I'm like "Wow! These are awesome" and I took off my shoes and tried them on. Little did I realize that there was some lady beside me trying on shoes and she was like "ummm, those are *my* shoes."

It reminded me of the time (probably 15 years ago) that I was standing in Mc Donalds after ordering and waiting for my food. The cashier put a tray on the counter with some fries and a pop on it (soda for the Americans). I start to eat a few fries when she places a Big Mac on the tray. Hmmm I didn't order a Big Mac.....then I see an arm reach in and a voice say "excuse me". Yeah I was totally eating off of this guys tray and to make matters worse it was an older guy from my high school. He didn't seem to care but I was mortified.

Last year (why is it always with food??) I was at a hotel and they had one of those continental breakfasts with muffins, coffee and tea. Anyway I see a plate with a few bagels on it and I'm rather dismayed as the bagels have raisins in them and I really don't like raisins but I'm hungry and figure I'll just have to suck it up, pick them out and eat the bloody thing. So I take a bagel off the plate when again a hand reaches in.....dammit I did it again!! Some guy had left his plate lying around while he went to get some coffee and for whatever reason I assumed it was the bagel plate. He laughed and didn't seem to mind however I was pissed as I was stuck with this nasty bagel when there was a large quantity of non raisin bagels at my fingertips. I couldn't possibly put it back or worse yet place it back on his plate though I really really wanted to. Can you imagine "here you go sir, you can have it back now I didn't want this one anyway. "

I'm dying for something funny to happen....anything!!! You know when you laugh so hard you cry, snort and gasp to catch your breath. It's been a while and I'm patiently waiting for something amusing to fall upon me.....come on now....anytime....I'm waiting......

I left my car in a parking lot on the weekend after having a few too many beverages. I picked it up in the morning, ran some errands and after about 5 hours noticed something taped to the back of my car. It was this huge sign regarding a Parks and Recreation meeting, clearly someone at the bar thought it would be funny to tape it to my trunk.....and it was....I had a good giggle over how silly I must have looked all day and imagined the people behind me squinting to read this big announcement and wondering why it was placed there (squinting to read a big announcement.....is that a bit of an oxymoron??). It was funny but not the kind of funny where I cry I'm laughing so hard though I suppose it's a start.

Perhaps something hilarious will happen this weekend though I am planning to keep a low profile and stay in. Granted, I also planned for that last weekend and ended up at a BBQ, a surprise party and then at a friends house sans car (among other things) due to my consumption of Keiths where it got a little messy.......damn you Keiths!!!

Funny stories anyone....anyone???

We visited a lot of art galleries while we were on vacation and I wanted to share some of my new favorite artists with you. I'm a Van Gogh girl, I just adore him however I do believe that Fabian Perez is also in the running as his pictures are extremely sexy and sultry; lots of dancing tango style, cigarettes, drinking, passion......he's amazing.

Vladimir Rush also caught my eye but in a completely different way. He reminds me a lot of Dali:

I thought this photo "All Lit Up" by Todd White was super cute ( I got it from http://www.iankenny.com/) :

Peter Lik is also amazing as is his presentation. He takes beautiful photographs and then mounts them onto back lit frames......I couldn't find any on the net that would do him justice as you really have to see them in person to get the full affect. Below is a small photo of one of his galleries.

Last but not least Eugeny Lushpin. Again I could not find any of the paintings I really enjoyed by him on the net but this one will give you a taste of his style. I haven't a clue how he makes the light look so real it's amazing. ( from http://www.sensorium.no/)

I'm curious, who are your favorite artists???

Another fun filled week in Vegas though I must say the vacations are much tamer as the years fall upon me. We spent an extended period rather than the usual 4 days which I didn’t mind at all. The weather was 95 to 102 degrees and hot as hell. We did a lot of shopping and by shopping I mean browsing around……sadly I only purchased a few items and nothing really noteworthy. Three of us went to see O ( the Cirque Show that has been on my list for years) which of course did not disappoint, LD and I hit up Peepshow a few days later which was a rather sexy burlesque type of show featuring Mel B and Kelly Monaco.

The rest of the peeps arrived a few days later however at some point on the vacation almost every single one of us fell ill. Be it from the sun or food who knows but sadly it was not from beer consumption. We did spend one rather rowdy afternoon at Diablo’s Cantina where a spin of the wheel provided $3 treats a la margaritas and shots of tequila. We were in bed by 8pm that evening!!

After hour number 3 at the Cantina I could not keep track of which drink was on special. I'd order a Margarita only to find out it was now Coors light....meh give me both!!!

We stayed at the end of the strip which was not ideal as it was a 25 min walk to anything relatively worthwhile and I would stay more central next time as in the past. We did however stumble upon Cold Stone Creamery which I recognized from an episode of Oprah. It was quite possibly the best ice cream I have ever tasted, I tried “All the lovin with no oven” which consisted of chocolate cake batter ice cream, cookie dough bits, fudge and whipped cream all mushed together Yummmmm!!!

Oh yes and I forgot to mention the deep fried twinkies and oreo cookies that we found on Freemont Street.....seriously!!! LOVED the oreos!!!
LD and I of course made it our mission to stay up well into sunrise as per years past. Sadly we did not do as good.....a few years ago we left the bar at 9:30am.....this year it was 5am but the sun was starting to peak out nonetheless.

We arrived home to freaking 49 degree weather (today it’s 66) and I do believe my office is colder inside than it is outside….I have my space heater on! I could have stayed for longer just to enjoy the sun and relax as it wasn’t a typical kick your ass Vegas style trip it was much more laid back this go around. There’s always next year…..

PS:

This guy cracked me up with his white socks and sandles....not to mention the drumstick hanging out of his back pocket WTF??? He was trashed and enjoyed dancing with his lady friend:

I also loved this truck decal filthy just filthy ;)

I just bought the cutest wedges ever!! I was actually out looking for a cheap black pair to replace my old ones however these caught my eye and of course I just had to have them. They're a lot shiner (more shiney?) than these photos show and super cute in person. Come to think of it these photos suck, you'll just have to take my word for it they're cute dammit!

Please excuse the naked toenails I'm getting my pedicure this weekend and wanted them free from polish until then.

I've had my eye on a few pairs of Fluevogs lately however they are soooo pricey and I'm not sure I would actually wear them enough to justify the cost. Most friends that I've shown have told me they are oooooogly but I dig them:

Whaddya think?? I find that men hate the Fluevogs that I own and women love them. They aren't conventionally sexy by any means; odd chunky heels, bizzare colours but they're fun and that's what matters!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I haven't a clue why or how this turned into a shoe post. I had actually planned to talk about my poor listening skills. I had a client call the other day and at the end of our conversation he said "Sorry I missed our appointment" and I answered with "You're welcome" and hung up. I assumed he was going to say "Thanks" and blurted out my response without even listening to what he said. Oops! Do y'all every do that?? (I like to say Y'all sometimes, I think it's funny much to the dismay of others).
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Anyway cats I'm outta here after this weekend to enjoy the 95 degree weather and sip 99 cent margaritas because "It's 5 o'clock somewhere" God bless Vegas! See you in a week.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PS If you're wondering why I have to put these ridiculous lines inbetween my paragraphs it's because Blogger isn't following my directions and is lumping everything into one big ass paragraph grrrr! WTF blogger, what the fuck??

It's been a rather busy week and of course will continue to be so this coming week as well. There are so many things that I need to get done but not enough hours in the day it seems. Granted I spent an entire day in bed nursing my hangover so really it's my own fault. I suppose that's what happens when you don't drink for over a month. I was all gung ho about my eating/drinking habits a few weeks ago and seems that I haven't been out whooping it up as per usual. I decided to have a night out......and paid for it dearly the next day.

Anyway, enough about that. I bought these beautiful bowls recently at this cute Japanese store. I just adore them!!

I was also given a rather large piece of chocolate by PP and when I say large I do mean large. It's from an enormous toblerone bar and apparently one triangle has approximately 2000 calories, yikes! Here it is beside one of my fruit cups to show the size.

I'm going away next week and I've been running around buying new clothes and trying to get myself relatively ready which seems to be taking forever. I'd rather have some idea of what I'm bringing rather than leaving it till the last minute as per usual. But alas I am sure that is exactly what is going to be happening.

I've been in good spirits as of late, I'm excited to be going away, the weather around here is warming up and I finally got my hair cut and highlighted. I had left it longer than I ever had before and it was starting to embarass me. I have a massage lined up this week, 1st pedicure of the year.....things are good!!
