I remember the 1st time i saw this movie I felt a strange connection to Kate Hudson's character Penny Lane. I'm certainly not a groupie or Band Aid as she referred to herself (unless you count my small obsession with Jeff Martin) however I saw myself in her.
In the beginning Penny Lane appeared to be a fun loving happy go lucky kind of gal. However as the movie progresses there is such a sadness behind her, she seems lost and vulnerable. The hurt and pain in her eyes when she asks "Why doesn't he love me" always gets to me. It's a way i'm sure we've all felt at one time or another.
Penny Lane is the one movie character that i closely identify with for some strange reason. What movie character do you see yourself in?

Rawbean it's such a phenomenal movie. I rarely ever purchase DVD's and i do have this one.

That's a tough question. There were times I though of myself as the unluckily in love type of character. I can't be that right now. Maybe the Giant in "My Giant" or the small dude in Simon Birch!

Hmmm... I would totally say Scarlett O'Hara but, as I remember, you never saw that film. Yeah, she's kind of a bitch who always wants what she can't have, BUT the she is a strong person who goes after what she wants with no regrets. I like to think that's me.
Anyway, I'm sure there are others -- that's just the first one to come to mind.

My unfortunate answer is that I probably most associate with "The Bride" in Kill Bill.
She's a tough chica with a vindictive streak, who doesnt let people walk all over her.
Grantid, Im not perfect, and im not saying that ive never let anyone take advantage of me, but for the most part.
I own "Almost Famous" on DVD, and I think your take on Kate Hudson was dead-on.
As for myself, I tend to identify with different characters for different moods and would take Mark Harmon from "Stealing Home" or Val Kilmer in "Tombstone" or Bill Murray from "Lost in Translation" depending on the circumstances.

2DP unfortunately i've only seen Lost in Translation out of your choices but i agree depending on one's mood we can identify with many different characters.
Hrmm.. I think I see myself in Joon, from Benny & Joon, however odd that may sound. I mean.. i'm not schizophernic, but there's something about her that just reminds me of myself...

One of the best movies ever! I love it. I can identify with Russel a bit in that movie, minus the drugs. He is a bit of a lost soul... doesn't know how to set boudaries and really go after what he wants in life.
