Togo here we come!!

The travel bug bit me years ago when my family decided to take me on various vacations. There was the trip to Florida and New York with PP's family, South Carolina...you get the idea. As an adult i've ventured off to Europe, Japan and a few sunny places like Cancun and the Dominican.

My next destination was supposed to be Dubai which is in the United Arab Emirates. I have a friend working over there and thought a visit was in order....it still is, just not at this time.

Instead i was talking to Jennifer and Dan on the weekend about their plans to go to Togo to visit their old roomate next month. She's over there with the Peace Corps and is going to be coming home soon. I messaged Jennifer the other day and said to count me in. When will an opportunity like this ever present itself again...never i say!! Off to Africa we go!!!

I've been spending my day at work checking out what immunizations are needed and trying to make appointments to get everything in order, as well as harassing Jennifer about scrounging up some moolah. I can't concentrate on work related tasks and i'm rather excited and jittery ... yes i'm a geek!!

OH MY GOD!!! You're going with them. HOW VERY VERY VERY Exciting!!! They have been talking about it for so long, and I cant believe its only what? like 7 weeks or so from now?

Are they still going around the end of the month? Holy CRAP, you'll have to fill me in. I'm totally excited for you.

Also, I have to say, that I cant remember many trips that I took to Myrtle Beach, that didnt include you and your fam.

We've travelled all over the west coast together....ever since we were teeny tiny. AWWW.LOL

WOW! That's amazing! Africa is not top of my list (I'm more of a Europe sort of gal), but I admire your adventurous spirit!

PP, we're going at the end of Oct, just over a month from now. It will also mean missing your special birthday :(

SS, I'm pretty much open to going anywhere and everywhere, i want to see it all.

Ms Ash,

You know I love you but have you considered the potential problem being in a country where everyone is less than 80 lbs would pose for you? What will you eat while you are down there?

In any case, this is an exciting development and I am sure you will have a blast. Quickest way to lose weight is getting diarrhea and no region of the world provides a better probability of that than Africa. Ok maybe except Bangladesh.

Ash - I know...we have load of friends...When I mean everyone, I didnt mean the majority of friends. MY entire family is gone to FL for my b-day, and t's busy..and now you're gone. Allie's in singapore...Although, i wont lie. They're feeling guilty that they're missing my b-day. It could be highly profitable. (just like 16 candles...LOL!!!)

You've traveled to some very cool places, and although I'm sure Africa would be an experience, I would advise getting as many shots as possible before leaving for there because it seems to be home to some of the worst diseases anywhere in the world.
