Ha Ha!!

So Rawbean's latest post has a bit in there about a developmentally delayed person at the movie theatre, which made me think of a few things; laughing when it's really inappropriate to do so was one of them.

I'm ashamed to say that on occassion a guffaw has left these usually appropriate lips at very inappropriate times. Once I was at the doctor's office and i had to leave the waiting room because i was crying i was laughing so hard and everyone was staring at me. I also let out a yelp in the grocery store when this old man (ass in the air bending over) farted really really loudly practically right on me. He was attached to an oxygen tank and i felt horrible for laughing.

I also remember leaving the theatre after seeing "There's Something About Mary" and i kid you not, a man with arm braces was parked right beside us. He was fiddling with his keys and all i could think about was that moment in the movie where Tucker(who was also wearing arm braces) dropped his keys and had difficulty picking them up. I started to snicker at the car and begged my friend to let me in ASAP. I'm horrified with myself now for acting that way, granted it was like 1998 and i wasn't as aware shall i say of other's feelings as i am now.

I just received this clip of a talkshow host acting terribly inappropriate. I was in absolute shock at the way he conducted himself and his actions throughout the interview and yet could not stop laughing. I honestly thought this was real until i found out it was from some dutch comedy show. Still funny nonetheless. (I certainly was not laughing at the poor man's problem, just at the host for not being able to control his laughter). Check it out it's less than 2 mins long. Do any of you my dear bloggers have such stories to share?

LOLLLLL!!! that clip is hilarious. Let me guess you were searching youtube for testicles?

So when I started my career, we used to have a doctor in our building dedicated to the employees of the company. He was an old man and he had the habbit of humming/singing a song as he examined us if we had a problem. It was fucking impossible not to laugh and I always lost it. Once I just rushed out the room when I was sitting in front of him. It was so rude.

Same company, a guy in a different department used to chew tobacco. They way he talked was hilarious and he spit the tobacco juice all over when he talked. I once lost myself and started laughing and he stared back at me so seriously, and that made me laugh even more.

Man, I love "Something About Mary" The scenes when Matt Dillon had those caps on his teeth cracked me up so bad!

I used to have 2 particular friends who would get me laughing in church so bad, I couldn't even look at them. There was this little kid who used to sit in front of us with a fade type haircut, and I made the observation that it kinda looked like Gumby. So I would mouth to her "I'm Gumby, Dammit!" and tears would be streaming down our faces! There were lots of other little jokes we would do, but the fact that we shouldn't laugh, made us crack up that much more.

I can't think of any good examples off the top, but I do have problems controlling my laughter all the time. I laugh when something isn't funny just because it's not funny and it's funny that's it's not funny. I laugh when I'm having fun and sometimes I laugh when I am sad or fighting back tears because that's just what comes out instead. And, most of all, I laugh if I am lying or bluffing (so that doesn't work so well for me). And I laugh if I am playing a trick on someone or trying to sneak up on someone. Plus, if I start laughing I can't stop. It's horrible. And, I'm super ticklish so if someone so much as brushes against me I'll burst into fits of giggles. Really, sometimes I'm like a little kid.

Yrautca, ewe chewing tobacco guy sounds yucky. Did he get it all over people?

Jlee & SS, I think it's hilarious when people can't stop laughing. Especially when they should refrain, it makes the situation even more ridiculous and funny.

I know someone who laughs at funerals and when they get bad news. It's a nervous reaction and they cannot help it. But it surely gets to people. Yaay funny link!

This post is exactly what happened to me this weekend. I'm going to put up a post about 'the scowler' and how she cracked us up at a very serious meeting all weekend.

There's nothing quite so funny - almost to the point of being completely uncontrollable - about laughing at something you know is just plain wrong to laugh at.

That being said, it's happened a lot and I don't want to go into any less my future career in politics be shut down. Ha.

I'm going to watch that video now.

I wish I remember that man farting in the grocery store...but I cant...my memory has blocked it.

Im sure I have giggled at some people...but I dont ever remember them being special needs. Unless they did something legitimately funny, or were so cute, I laughed.

I know im not perfect, and have, at one point or another, laughed at someone for whatever reason....i just cant think of it.

PP - I've got one for you - the elephant woman and jackie

Ash - I know that you love farting, but I can't believe you weren't mad when that dude farted on you.

Natalia, nervous laughter is the worst. Especially at a funeral.

2DP, haha your career in politics eh? I had a friend who did the "mangina" and another friend who covered his eyes with a cigarette pack in the photo so noone could identify him as it may ruin his future career in politics.

BB hope you enjoyed the video.

PP, Jennifer just gave you two examples, both of which are true.

Jennifer, it wasn't on me but close to it. Unlike yourself when you held me down.....i didn't laugh then.

Me? I've never done anything that horrific to another human being. Then again, I'm a good person. :P

Seriously though, yeah, I'm an ass.

A boyfriend of one of my Aunt's has a brother that is a little mentally challenged. One time, at a family function, he saw my cousins and I all playing beer pong, which he called "Water Ping Pong". It's still a running gag with my cousins, though we don't mean it at his expense. Still, it's probably not nice.

I would just like to point out that I did not laugh at the guy in the theatre! I wanted to shush him until I realized he was developmentally delayed. And I really hate that term "developmentally delayed". It's a little too tip-toe for me.
