I am not a fan of this "Save Now" feature as I just wrote this huge blog and hmmmm it's gone. Here I go again.....
So I managed to sit through two days of training with no role playing in sight. The bad news is I still have four full days left of sheer and utter boredom. The content itself is quite interesting and the speaker is well versed on the subject matter, it's her approach that is making the class want to fall asleep. She stands at the front of the room in the same spot and speaks for 2 hours, quick break, speaks again for a few hours, lunch and guess what folks, she speaks again until the end of the day. The day changes only when we do quick group work or someone asks a question. We have even been let out early on both days as she can feel the energy in the room disappearing. The only saving grace for me is that the training is over a few weeks time so it's back to the grind tomorrow.
During the training I giggled to myself about a good laugh I had at a friends BBQ this past weekend. It was one of those laughs where you are crying, snorting, gasping for air and doubled over in sheer delight with no end in the near future. I gave LD & the guys my camera to look at photos of a friends wedding as I A) forgot a particular photo on there had been taken and therefore B) handed over my camera. The photo in question was of myself in my attach to your bra spanx....a lovely idea by myself and LD after the wedding festivities had taken place IE tooooo much drinking. Up pops the photo. LD & I burst into uncontrollable laughter, the guys are confused and reach for the camera to get a better glimpse of the funny image only I of course delete it before they have a chance.
I love those moments where an uncontrollable guffaw springs from your mouth and you double over in side spitting pain from the boisterous laughter that lasts forever. When was that last time you had a good laugh like that?
This is a quick outtake of a clip that Marilyn Monroe was filming for "Somethings Got to Give." Her costar was of the canine persuasion and not cooperating at this point. She lets out this laugh near the end of the take that always puts a smile on my face. It's not something one would expect from the quiet and poised Marilyn, it's like she lets go for a moment. I LOVE it!!!!

How come you didn't post the picture of yourself in the Spanx so we could have all had a belly laugh!
Admit it now, you wish there had been role playing.
She was wonderful. What a great laugh. I love those moments and always cry when I laugh like that. This girl I work with is so hysterical and is always doing stuff to crack me up. She kept trying to take my picture the other day at work, and so to shock her, I turned toward her and spread my legs wide open (I was wearing jeans) and we both laughed for like 20 minutes at the photo/my expression.
As a loyal reader I demand evidence of said photo.
That does sound funny as hell.
Jennifer haha the photo no longer exists. As for the role playing...there was a tiny part of me that was dying for anything other than to sit for 8 hours....but then I thought nah, i'd rather sit here than role play.
Jlee, nice LOL, it's great to have humourous co-workers.
Wiwille, here i'll describe it. I had my head turned to the left, hands on my hips and all you can see is my bra and the spanx creeping out below to my hip area. The photo no longer exists :)
Haha, nice! I love laughs like that, I had one of those in class once and i am sure my teacher thought I was high.
Scott
It is wrong to mention a photo and not show it. You're just a tease, aren'tcha?
Last time I had a big ol' belly laugh would have been last night. I was watching some home movies of some local indie band. Pure hilarity.
That's a fab clip! And I so want to see the photo that provoked all the hilarity now!
Cxx
PS 'The Dirty Bits for Girls' is a good laugh - it's like an anthology of the smut you read as a teen and learnt all about the birds, bees and blowjobs from!
Scott, nice haha!
WIGSF,tease smease....
Claire that sounds like a rather interesting book. Too bad I no longer need to read it haha!
I love the cry laugh, I need more of those.
I crack myself up all the time. Sometimes my jokes only would make sense to me and I dont think if I said them aloud in a gathering anybody else would find it too amusing. Curse of the dry wit.
The roleplaying bit kinda reminds me of a scene from the British version of "The Office" where they're sitting around in a circle talking about their "fantasies". If you haven't seen it, you have to. :P
i'm so glad that in my current job there is a very unlikely prospect of training that will involve role play...thankfully :)
I have trouble surpressing giggles a lot. I can't sneak up on anyone because I will start laughing and they will hear me coming, and I can't play practical jokes without breaking into a laughing fit in the middle. So, I am no good at that stuff.
The other day at work we had some clients visiting from out of town and my coworker (who's also named Ashley) was supposed to call all their hotel rooms, welcome them to Orlando and tell them to call her if they had any questions. Well, Ashley had to leave unexpectedly before she finished calling all the rooms and so she asked me to continue for her, but she wanted me to still say "Hi, this is Ashley" and pretend I was her. So, I did it, but the second that phrase left my mouth I started laughing. No idea why. I guess because I'm NOT Ashley. Oh, but it was bad of me to do because I couldn't erase my laughing fit from the message I left. Oops!
