Git R Done

So camping.....well in a trailer for two days was a success. The only unfortunate part was the ban on fires as they have not had rain up there in a long time. It was actually quite nice inside, stainless steel appliances and such, perfect for two people to share. I don't quite understand how families and others stay all summer as many do, but for a weekend getaway it was great.

We spent the 1st night gazing at the stars which reminded me of when I was a child. I used to lay on my driveway wondering what was out there and what the world had in store for me. We also spent that first night having a few bevvies and staying up until 7am chatting. Lots of stories and laughter ensued as I met my friends brother for the 1st time. He had tonnes of funny stories about her as well he and his girlfriend are avid travellers and have been to places I would love to go.
We slept in (woo hoo) and spent the next day shopping and of course checking out the area. I really loved how the general store was not only the corner store, but the grocery store, post office and of course liquor and beer store all rolled into one. We then decided to hit the town at of course the local Country Western bar....oh yeah that's right. I hate country music but was the 1st one to declare our mandatory attendance for some laughs, as well I was hoping to ride the mechanical bull but alas the bull is only there on Thursdays. Unfortunately I forgot my camera but let me just say this....the stamp to get in said either "GIT R DONE" OR "REDNECK" and of course there were cowboy hats everywhere, you get the idea.

It was fun to try something new and I think we even became a little bit country during the weekend...no knife...no problem: (Oh and my toes are healing nicely I can walk again though still nasty looking) SS don't look :)

I'm not sure if a loaded out trailer actually qualifies as camping. Ha.

But it looked like a good time, and I love the Bull is Back sign. I'll have to use that sometime for something.

Where was this place? Kentucky? Geez, I had no idea that bars anywhere in Ontario had mechanical bulls, yokles in stetson hats or country music. I thought that was just reserved for 'Little Texas' (a.k.a Alberta)

Too late - I saw them before I could avert my eyes. BLEH!

I'm going camping for my birthday (next weekend). That's not normally my thing but your post reminded of how fun it can be to take a little diversion from the ordinary sometimes. Yay =)
