It's time for an update on the rather slow going list of goals I have to complete. I started out with vigor and excitement at the prospect of new adventures and trying new things. Unfortunately my drive seems to have fizzled as of late. I also find that I'm completing the easier tasks first (which really makes no sense) when really I should take on the longer tasks first IE learn to speak better French. Why give yourself 3 years when you can have one month haha!!

#17 Play a game of golf on a green

Much to the dismay of the other 6 people on the course I was able to complete this task!! Actually I went rather late in the day to a course where nobody really goes because A) it's super short (9 holes) and B) it's a shitty course. My friend thought this would be the perfect place for a beginner and she was right. I was terrible (as expected) but not super terrible, I shot a 67 (par was 27) oops!!

#38 Put a new battery in my watch

I feel that this one is rather self explanatory....I had 3 watches to choose from and decided to go with my heart rate monitor. I don't wear watches very often but I do try to wear this one when I'm at the gym. The battery had died recently so I fixed this one first.

#41 Visit 15 of my placements at work (6/15)

I have gone to two more placements since the last time I posted progress. This goal may be a little tricky in the future as it is no longer one of my work tasks however I may have a way around it :)

#44 Clean out my closet/under my bed/dresser

The closet I had done previously but the bed and dresser I tackled this weekend. I sure had a lot of stuff that really wasn't necessary to keep around and will be better suited for someone else. Yay for thrift shops and freecycling!!

#66 Plant a windowsill herb garden

I planted some basil and oregano. I had originally wanted them in the same planter (in a cute long holder) however things did not work out that way and I had to plant them all by their lonesome awwwww!

#69 Have my car detailed inside

I had them do this when my car was being fixed and man did it need a good cleaning. I always have a hell of a time cleaning out the area under my trunk popper with all of the little rocks and dirt that wedges in there. I find it impossible to get in that space however these men were able to work their magic and voila, it looks like new again!

So that's it for the update. I just realized that I began this goal list on August 22, 2007 and it has been just over a year since I started. I'm embarrassed to say that I have only completed 21 out of 75 goals thus far. I'm not completely upset with myself though as those are 21 things that I may never have tried otherwise or tasks that I would have put off until later. While my progress may be a little slow....at least I am making progress and I'm happy with that :)

Ooooh, I love basil and oregano. I made a pizza yesterday that was green, it had so much basil and oregano on it.

Darn it, now I'm jonesing for those last two slices I've got waiting for me in my fridge. All day long, that's all I'm going to think about now.

I always like these posts as I imagine they are somewhat motivating to report too. And 21 is a fine number for a year into it as some of them were/are easier than others.

As for the golf swing . . . I haven't played in years, but that doesn't appear to be a textbook representation. ha.

Hey it's progress. That's the important thing. You need to set your own consequences if you don't reach your timeline, like have to read the entire collection of Sweet Valley High.

You are doing better than I am. It took me 11 yrs to put a new battery in my watch. I have a love/hate relationship with it. It's a Fossil watch. Noone would touch it but Fossil and I was lazy on sending it in, but they finally put a store in Houston so I didn't have to do it. But one goal that I am doing now is quitting smoking and it's working. I love Chantix. I really works.

Shooting a 67 is not bad. I can drive the ball 250 yards and I still shoot 120 for 18 holes!!

2DP, Ha! I do believe that my eyes should be on the ball and my head down...

Wiwille, I have to give $10 for each unfinished goal to a charity of my choice.

Scott & Rawbean thanks!

Invisible G, the full list is in my archives under August 2007. If I was more computer savvy I could find it for you and post a link right here, but alas I am not :)

DM, oh great I also have a Fossil watch. I'm glad I chose the easier one to fix haha!

BB, 250 yards holy shit! I was excited when mine went about 70 yards...and that happened once LOL.

Congrats on your accomplishments so far. It will be great if you keep it going even though the year is up =)
