Alright I was being lazy but feel free to take a shot at this one :)
I bought a Tivo (yay!!) and spent a better part of my day setting the bloody thing up. It's actually quite easy to do however I was not getting a picture on my screen and thought I had mucked up the wires somehow. Turns out my TV broke between yesterday and today, tragic news people!! I can't complain really as it did give me 13 perfect years. I have an old backup that will do for now, however it's time for me to research some options. Any tips would be greatly appreciated IE the differences between plasma and LCD? Is one considered better than the other?
I was finally able to celebrate my birthday last night and had a fantastic time. Lots of friends came out and I was able to stay out all night long unlike last year when I was in bed by 1am! It was great to get everyone together to celebrate my fall into cougardom! Oh and clearly the bathroom photos are alive and well!!

I recently bought an LCD television. After much research I settled on the Sony Bravia V-Series. I've also got a Samsung Plasma television. The LCD is better. It's lighter (a plus for anybody who has to set it up on their own) and projects a crisper image. Something to watch for, the screen's resolution. If the price looks too good to be true, here's why. The highest resolution is 720. High definition sources can be as high as 1080. Make sure to get a television with a digital tuner. Some time next year, all television broadcasts will be digital only. Probably won't be an issue as the signal will be going into the Tivo and not directly into the TV, but you never know. I also found in my tv shopping that the border of the set makes a difference. I chose a tv with a black border. It gives the illusion of better colour contrast than the sets with the grey border.
The Sharp Aquos is a pretty good LCD tv as well.
And that photo, you have this weird look on your face. You look, I dunno, hesitant or aprehensive or something.
Oh, I got it. In the bathroom, right. I guess the photo was taken as a way to kill time waiting for the test to give a result, right?
I would go the LCD route. They have better picture and have a better life expectancy.

As for the TV question - I have an LCD in my bedroom and a Plasma in my gameroom. My thoughts are is you're going for 32 inches or below, then an LCD might be better and if you're going above 42 or so then Plasma. Regardless, I like both of my sets quite a bit and either will be excellent with you TIVO.

WIGSF, thanks for the info!! I'll have to check that out. I was looking at some of the flashy Samsungs the other day and the colour and pictures were quite clear and crisp, as well I dug the shiny black frame.
As for the photo, I was drunk and not taking a pee test :p

2DP, right on about work, i'm taking 3 days off this week so hopefully it won't invade my sleep again anytime soon. I'm thinking about a 27 to 32 " TV. The LCD seems to be the concensus thus far.
