Another busy weekend has come to an end. I must say the weather left something to be desired as it rained like a son of a bitch almost every day. LD and I got stuck in a downpour while shopping at some cute boutiques, spent $30 each on umbrellas only to find the rain had stopped once we went back outside. Oh well the umbrellas we bought were super cute! One was black with white skulls and the other was black with cherries. We met up with J to do some more shopping at the mall and then started to walk back to my friends condo. Stupid idea....we had walked a lot that day already and had a concert to go to that evening. We got quite far and finally decided to cab it the rest of the way as our feet were burning.

We went to see Depeche Mode who were absolutely amazing!! I heard a woman in line mention that she's been going to their concerts for 20 years and I thought wow!! Then I thought, wait a minute I'm not too far behind that number, it's been 16 years for me! Crazy!!

They put on an excellent show, the girls behind us were screaming "Dave you sexy bastard", Martin had an outlandish silver get up on with painted nails and of course his star shaped guitar, they sang a lot of their old tunes and the encore made me want to wet my pants. I put the play list below but seriously they played Stripped, Master & Servant AND Personal Jesus!!! Martin sounded like an angel when he sang Home though I was rather disappointed that he didn't sing Somebody.....that should be an unspoken rule or something. Our seats were perfect, dead centre, short people in front of us, the only complaint would be the distance. We weren't super far back but closer is always better in my book. This person took some amazing shots that they've posted on a flickr page. Check them out!! (Sly that link is really for you!!)

We went out dancing afterwards and had a great time. Fantastic music, good drinks, cute guys. My favorite part of the evening was when I was chatting with a guy who had also been to the concert and oddly enough reminded me of Martin Gore *swoon*. A while into the conversation LD grabs his left hand, thrusts it in front of my face and yells "He's married!" It was hilarious!

I woke up with a bunch of bizarre bruises again, 3 in the same spot on my arm, another one on my elbow, a huge one on my leg......all on my right side. I do bruise like a peach (and I'm clumsy as hell) however this is getting to be a bit ridiculous.

We sat in traffic......AGAIN.....forever. It took double the amount of time it should have to get home and with no good reason. There was no construction, no accidents, nothing! Just a shitload of rain and two very unhappy girls. No funny people watching stories as we could barely see the car infront of us due to the weather though we did notice a ridiculous amound of vanity plates. I loathe vanity plates!

I may or may not be headed up north again this weekend, but I promise if I do that I will not bitch about the traffic for a 3rd time......you get it I know, I know.....traffic sucks!

I wouldn't mind the rain so much as it's over 100 F (not familiar with celcius since I'm a dumb fat American). I would so love to see Depeche Mode again.

It looks like you are making the most out of Canadian summers. Good for you. And the marks are probably the freaky guy creeping into your room and giving you hickeys. Or could be LD too!

Rawbean, it was!! Yeah I saw how crazy hot it was in BC yesterday so you're right the rain can't be that bad.

Wiwille, oh you must if they come your way, it was a spectacular show I really really enjoyed myself.

Yrautca, ha!! I'll have to ask LD about that....

Sounds like a cool gig! Boo to no people watching on the way home though!

Man, I was such a fan back in the day. (Yeah, 20 years or so..ha) Glad you had fun, but I am beginning to get concerned about all those bruises!

Claire, it was fantastic!

Sly, there are some great photos of Dave on that site and man can he still move even though my heart belongs to Martin!

JLee, Ha! And would you believe I have more....clearly I need to tone it down a bit.
