Just in case there was any question as to how much of a loser I am......this might help to remind you.....I spent Saturday night curled up in my bed alone watching Fiddler on the Roof!!! I seriously wanted to jump up and start dancing when Tevye started shaking his shoulders and singing away; it was wonderful!! It's been ages since I've seen the movie and I loved every second of it! I also Tivo'd West Side Story though have yet to watch it. I must be in a musical sort of mood!

I also watched Sleepy Hollow and of course Johnny Depp made me laugh in his portrayal of Ichabod Crane. He always plays these bizarre, quirky characters (Edward Scissorhands, Willy Wonka, Sweeny Todd) and never ceases to amaze me. I am super excited for his Alice In Wonderland debut in March as A) I think he will make a fantastic Mad Hatter and B) I freaking love love love Tim Burton films!! Ah something to look forward to......

Friday I spent the evening sitting by a fire with some high school pals. We all brought munchies (grown up munchies brie cheese with pepper jelly, baguettes with oil and basil...fancy stuff) and made some interesting drinks that involved Chambourd (yum). The one girl I've been terrible at keeping in touch with, another I see periodically though we're good friends and the last one I talk to quite regularly. You know how some friendships don't need constant attention....you don't talk for months and then get right back to where you left off with ease; it was like that.

It felt good to just chill out around the fire with great company, no loud music or drunk people bumping into you, no need to get all dressed up or worry about catching a cab home......I need to spend more evenings like this!!

I don't care whether or not you use the modifier "grown up", brie ain't a munchie.
The only cheesy thing that is a munchie is a Cheetoh.

I am also a HUGE Johnny Depp fan, and I am oh-so-excited about Alice in Wonderland too!

I love your description of friendships that don't require constant attention. Many of mine have grown to be like that, and it's so comforting.

There's nothing wrong with these quiet weekends sometimes. Of course mine are like this almost ALL the time. lol
Speaking of Tim Burton, my daughter is a huge fan so we watched "Betelgeuse" (not my favorite) on our new HD tv last night. I had not heard of this new one. Can't wait.

That actually sounds like a fine weekend with the possible 'Fiddler' exception. Ha. A slightly mellow weekend must be added on occassion when things have been hectic for awhile. I'm also excited to see 'Alice.' Finally, what is Chambourd?

I just watched Fiddler on Thursday with a friend. I told her how I used to do a Topol impression when I was a kid. She's amazed I'm straight.

I enjoy the nights in a lot better than going to a bar and spending crazy cash.

I have a few friends like that, you haven't talked for a year but it is like no time has passed when you get together.
