It's that time of year....where I stay *gasp* away from malls and stores. I know it's hard to believe but I'm VERY serious about this! I can't stand the crowds nor the incessant looping of horrific Christmas songs. I mean really.....really.....(I'm making one of my WTF faces)people enjoy this???
I don't understand the appeal however I will admit to enjoying a few holiday songs! When these come on the radio my face brightens up, I get a bounce in my step and yes I sing along. While I do love Wham (Wake me up before you go go anyone, anyone?) I'm really not a fan of Mariah at all though I do love this song. Go ahead Judgey McJudgers, I can take it. I like a Mariah Carey song....there I said it!
All I Want For Christmas by Mariah Carey
Last Christmas by Wham
They also play a lot of these song during the season which I enjoy:
Happy Christmas by John Lennon & Yoko
Santa Baby by Madonna
Please Come Home For Christmas by Bon Jovi (or the Eagles I like both)
Hmmmm I guess I like a lot more "Christmas" songs than I thought I did shhhhh don't tell anyone! What are your favourites? Even the Scrooges out there....you must like one or two.
Enjoy the last weekend before the madness begins! I shall find myself out of town whooping it up in the big city!! Our old haunt is having a reunion of sorts so I expect to have a fabulous time.....I'm dying to see if Asian Patrick Swayze will be there!!! Oh how I've missed him so and the various other characters we'd see on a Saturday night!

The problem with Christmas music is that it generally lacks all that makes music listenable: sex, drugs and rock 'n roll.
But if I gotta pick some, how about Christmas on Acid by the Radio Free Vestibules, or Christmas with the Devil by Spinal Tap.
WIGSF, oh jeez I just heard that song on your blog for the 1st time it's certainly interesting lol.
Judge Wiwille slams the gavel.
Fairytale of New York by the Pogues! It's def got sex, drugs, and rock 'n roll. Best Christmas song ever.
Also, check out "A House or Maybe a Boat" by my dear Hawksley Workman.
I love Jimmy Eat World's version of "Last Christmas".
I love both Death Cab for Cutie's and Slow Club's versions of "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)"
And folk dude Sufjan Stevens has a awesome Chirstmas box set.
Oh, and a friend just send me this and I'm working through it now:

So far I love the songs by The Acorn, The Wilderness of Manitoba, and Ohbijou.
Wiwille, ouch!!
Christielli, that's quite the list, I'll have to give a few of those a listen.
I like that last Bon Jovi song but it was originally sung by some other band.
The other one I really like is Baby Please Come Home - Mariah Carey has a version too.
Merry Christmas!
Some great songs! I may have to copy this post idea!
Cxx
