Anyway i came across an old poem i had not read in a long time but i quite enjoy. I thought i would share it with you.
AFTER A WHILE
By: Veronica A. Shoffstall
After a while, you learn the subtle difference between holding a hand and chaining a soul.
And you learn that love doesn't mean leaning, and company doesn't mean security.
And you begin to learn that kisses aren't contracts, and presents aren't promises.
And you begin to accept your defeats with your head up and your eyes open, With the grace of a woman, not the grief of a child.
And you learn to build all your roads on today because tomorrow's ground is too uncertain for plans.
And futures have a way of falling down in midflight.
And after a while you learn that even the sunshine burns if you get too much.
So you plant your own garden and decorate your own soul, Instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers.
And you learn that you really can endure...That you really are strong.
And you really do have worth.
And you learn and learn...With every goodbye you learn.

Ah yes i was told today i did not get it. My interview was great blah blah but it came down to experience and the other woman has frontline experience grrrrr. My boss said she knows of positions coming up and would reccommend me .... but i'm not prepared to work for 16 hours a week any longer waiting for these positions to arise. I'm putting in my applications elsewhere.
OHHHH Pumpkin. Sorry you didnt get it. You could have done that job brilliantly. They're stupid for not hiring you.
not cool about the job
maybe you should come over here with jennifer and work in my office
Hey Ash, I couldn't help but notice a particular line in your poem, "And after a while you learn that even the sunshine burns if you get too much." When are you planning on learning that one? ;-)
PX, I doubt you'd want to work with Ash and I at the same time, all we do is insult eachother. On the otherhand, that might be completely entertaining.
PS I wouldn't sweat it to much about the job, don't feel defeated, keep in mind that you weren't sure if you wanted it anyway, and go out and start volunteering for the organization the other applicant volunteered for. I love volunteering, it's usually a lot of fun, you're doing something nice, and it looks good on the resume - everyone wins.
BTW, I was at my volunteer job, and some old guy tried to strike up a conversation with me, and I couldn't stop thinking of the 'pussy man' from your last post. I think I was so creeped out, I just 'yeah yeah'ed him until he went away.
