Ghosts and playing tourist for the day!!

I went on a haunted walk at an old fort that was rather disappointing. It wasn't very scary at all, not too many spooky stories or anything and it was quite short. I went to one years ago that I really enjoyed so perhaps I'll give that one a go next year.

A friend and I were chatting about ghosts and the belief or lack thereof in them. I for one do believe such beings exist, he does not. I have never had the pleasure (actually I think I would be so bloody scared) of actually seeing anything paranormal in person. I have had a few rather questionable things happen that made me a bit freaked out but I've yet to actually see a ghost.

Friends have recanted tales of witnessing unexplainable beings or goings on......enormous shoe prints on freshly washed wet floors while home alone, toys moving from an upstairs closet to downstairs; again no one else was home, a little boy standing at the end of ones bed.....the list goes on. So you my lovely readers, do you believe in ghosts and have you had any paranormal experiences?

On a completely different note I met up with Claire this weekend and had a fabulous time, she's great fun! I took her around the city and thankfully I have a friend in the tourist industry that was able to help us plan the day. We crossed the whirlpool on a cable car, braved the butterflies at the conservatory all the while hoping we would not kill any lest they land on us. As well it was near impossible to capture these bloody blue buggers on film which drove us both crazy. We took a beautiful walk along the rapids and braved the mighty falls in our yellow raincoats getting completely and ridiculously soaked.

(Rapids)
We ate chocolate covered strawberries which were to die for and apparently Claire is frightened quite easily. I took her to a very dark haunted house where they have live actors that try to scare you. We managed to get up the stairs, walk down a hall then heard a low voice and loud banging. It was frightening, she grabbed my arm and told me I could go alone and she'd wait for me. No way, we both turned around and got the hell outta there haha!!! We had a good laugh about that one.

(Booths at Sneaks....such a classy place!!)

It was a friends birthday this weekend as well, so Claire came out with us and danced the night away. We drank far too much and of course had to hit up Sneaky Dee's for a late night snacky poo IE breakfast at 4 am. Sorry for keeping you out so late, hope you were able to sleep on the train to Montreal :)

Butterfly conservatory... butterfly concentration camp you mean.

I also believe that most paranormal experiences are just drug-induced hallucinations. Sometimes all it takes is a bit of funky mold on a piece of bread or cheese to give you a tiny little trip. There's always a logical explanation.

My parents said they lived in a house were it felt as if you were being watched in the basement. The dogs refused to go downstairs.

Once a cat walked by an attacked the house.

I typically find those "haunted tours" of places to be lame as the last one I was one was in New Orleans, and I came away disappointed.

That being said, I want to believe in ghosts (at least the good ones). Why not?

I actually did see a ghostly figure twice as a kid. That being said I don't believe in ghosts as I understand human perception is extremley flawed.

I do believe in ghosts.

That trip with Claire sounds rather nice.

Can't believe that you brought a guest to our Country to Sneaky Dee's!

Not a believer in the paranormal though I with the Ghostbusters were a real organization.

That sounds like a blast! So glad you got to meet Claire. I love haunted houses and was disappointed to not get to go this year, but my friend is coming trick or treating with me and my daughter and her friends, then we're going to watch a scary movie. weee!

WIGSF, haha!!

BB, see PP's old dog refused to go in her basement as well and her house is on the haunted side.

2DP, the one I went to previously was scary, granted I was younger so perhaps that was why.

Wiwille, ummm so you saw two but do not believe in them ....

Yrautca, it was nice to play tourist as I never go down to that area on my own.

Scott, everyone must experience Sneaky Dee's at least once in their life haha!

Jlee, sounds like fun, which movie will you be watching?

Don't know if I believe in ghosts or not. When I was a kid I thought there was a man ghost who lived in my closet and came out while I was sleeping. I saw him quite often. But I thought it was all in my head. One time in high school a girlfriend spent the night and the next morning she told me she couldn't sleep because she kept seeing a ghost in my closet... and she described him perfectly. I still get really creeped out when I'm home alone and I walk into my closet. But I still think it's all in my head.

One time in college I was playing ouija board with a friend. No-one knew we were playing, no-one knocked on the door during the session. We asked the spirit for a physical sign they were real. When I went back to my room across the hall, the number plate on my door was screwed in upside down as though it had always been that way.
