I was informed recently about a little diddy called a merkin.......ringing bells for anyone else out there??? I myself had never ever heard of such a thing and was giggling like a 12 year old boy when I found out exactly what a merkin was. For those of you not in the know, it's a pubic wig, orginally worn by sex trade workers to disguise the marks of syphilis, among other things.
I for one think this would be a fun/playful accessory to have around. Rather than surprising your partner with sexy lingerie, you could change the colour and shape of your merkin. Fun fur pink one day, a real hair bearded look the next. So get out there and try something new, buy a merkin today!! (and yes they are made for both men and women and no you don't have to be a sex trade worker or have syphilis to sport one) Ha!!!

I think surprising a sexual partner with some different colour pubic hair might be a turn off to some. For example, would you like a guy if he was wearing one of those rainbow clown wigs?
hahaha! I have heard of this and was surprised that most actresses wear them during nude scenes. No wonder they always look so hairy! lol
I found out about this term sometime in the past few years, and love the word itself because it sounds hilarious and I use it during bar conversation quite a bit. You'd be surprised the number of times it can become appropriate.

They look like they'd be hot... or itchy... or (worse) both. I've got nothing to hide... nor do I feel the need to "fancy up" down there. But I do enjoy the word "merkin." Funny stuff.
...not to mention the boost of confidence it can give to people suffering from pubic balding... :P

Merkin is also a term for man who dating a woman to hide her lesbianosity. (Think Operah's Steadman).

I actually rather like Oprah. I was just having a hard time thinking of a person who fit the description. I mean there's a list a mile long of 'beards,' the gay man equivalent coughkatieholmescoughcough. But merkins seem to be very few an far between.
