I figured it was time to share a part of me with you, my fellow bloggers. Do you like my house??? We're trying to see if the garbage will touch the roof, a silly game we've been playing since i was quite young...it's almost there, few more years i reckon.
Seriously though, this house has apparently been in my region since i was a kidlet, only i just found out it existed a few weeks ago. I was absolutely flabbergasted when my eyes settled in on the yard. WHO lives like this??? There must be some SERIOUS mental health issues....and why has he/she been allowed to pile so much garbage (treasures) in the yard like that? Take note of the pile behind the blue truck, it's almost as tall as the roof. Apparently the neighbours have been trying to get the place cleaned up for years to no avail. I wanted to knock on the door and pretend i was selling something just to get a better look, however i was unable to locate the door and didn't realize i would need to repel down a pile of garbage in search of one. As well that sign outside was a bit daunting so i snapped the photo from my car and drove off. This place seriously leaves me speechless!!!

It looks pretty bad. However, this may be junk as compared to garbage, and the owner of the house may be in the junk collection, recycling business. I dont know about Canadian laws but this cant happen in US.
Something like this happened in Buffalo NY a couple years back and the court order to get the owner to remove the junk was fought tooth and nail by the owner.
If this is a house (zoned as a house) it can be argued by a neighbourhood association that the house is being used as a business.
In my experience living in The Canada, municipal governments have the authority to stop these things from happening but choose not to exercise that authority.
I have some theories as to why but that little guy on my shoulder with the halo is winning the argument with the little guy on my other shoulder with the horns and pointy tale so I will not be sharing those theories in detail. Long story short, that garbage will be there until nature smite's it from the Earth.
I can not believe that you have never seen this house before...I remember it like that when I first moved here like 20 yrs ago. So funny.
i loved the sign
as if you could find a way through all that shit to actually trespass anyway lol
We had one of these in my neighbourhood growing up, he was sooo nice and his family were lovely too. The city would come and clear out his yard every so often and then he'd just start collecting again.
Yeah, I agree with What, in Canada you can't have a business on your residential property, and the municipality has the right to deal with it. In the case of the guy in our neighbourhood, the municipality eventually replaced the fence in the backyard of his corner property with one that had a big gate on it, and they would back the garbage truck up to the gate and clear his yard out.
Yrautca..i didn't think this could happen here either.
WIGSF, it's bizzare how nothing has been done about this when they can in fact do something.
Dawn, i know. I wonder what else is out there that i've missed.
PX, i know!!!
Jennifer, i'm not sure why they have not done something like that to this person. I'd have to look into it further as everything i've heard is hearsay.
Oh, we have one of those in Orlando too. I've never seen it myself but the owner is always on the news because he's been hauled off to jail for it several times. How scary!
Looks like cool pad. You should Flip that house!
thats totally not the garbage house that I Was talking about....We'll have to go find the one I was laughing at. There's a space ship out front!!! LOL
Awhh that is awful! But awesome that you took a photo! I'm sure they couldn't see you, and even if they could, what are they gonna do? climb the pile of trash to get to you??
Do not knock on that door because there could very easily be something or someone living inside that looks worse and acts crazier than the garbage piled up outside.
Be very careful and stay far away. Safety first.
How many times do I have to tell you, Miss Ash, stay the hell off my lawn!!!
But seriously, that's just nuts. On the bright side, if you ever need to borrow a cup of spare parts from a 1964 Casio clock radio, he's your go-to guy.
If the neighbours want the municipality to go after that guy then they'd have to mobilize and complain loudly. It's expensive and a lot of effort to go after someone like this.
SS, apparently every city/town has one..who knew?
Melissa, clever idea, next time we have some trash to get rid of we'll swing by this guy's place and toss it off.
BB, i'd imagine this is what your condo looks like but on the inside :P
PP,we'll have to take a ride past the Spaceship house...during the Christmas Lightmare production.
Rawbean...exactly!! Too much effort i would think for a person that keeps their home in such disarray.
2DP, Good advice, however i think i can hold my own :)
Michael, very true. Next time i'm in the market for an old propane tank (of which he seems to have many) i know where to go.
Jennifer, true. I'm not sure what they have done or not done about it. I've just heard they tried with no luck.
Looks like a farmhouse that got run over by metal tins. LOL Im just kidding :)
keshi.

Methinks they need Kim Woodburn and Aggie Mackenzie. (W Network 7:30 p.m. Eastern)
Totally...we have to do that soon!!!
Ash...I remember you asking me if there was a way for Canadians to support troops and while I was browsing my Soldier's Angels message boards...I realized that there is a Canadian one too. Here's the link.

Crap...the whole address won't show up here. *sigh*
I'll email it to PP and she can get it to you.
Yes pass it onto PP, thanks Lindsey!!!
Perfectly legal!! He is in a rural area therefore he can do whatever the fuck he want's with his property. Provided no fluids are leaking out of any of his shit on the property. the city has no way of making him clean it up other than ticketing his vehicles parked on the road overnight which by the way he had fought and won. I applaud him and wish more people would store junk on thier front lawns instead of sending it off to a landfill
There must be some SERIOUS mental health issues
Actually he is very smart. He hauled a old car from my property a few years ago and that is how I was able to get all the above information
